Liz Pollard

“Helping people is what I enjoy most. I’m dedicated to listening to my clients and assessing their needs. Then it’s all about experience, marketing savvy and hard work.”

Liz Pollard knows the Bay Area. She grew up there and has been a licensed Realtor® in the community since 1979 ─ the last decade with Alain Pinel Realtors in Woodside, CA.

Early on Liz discovered that communicating with people from all walks of life was something she enjoyed and did well. In her twenties, she and a girlfriend set off for Africa with little more than backpacks, a little Swahili and unbridled curiosity. They hitchhiked from Nairobi to Mombasa stopping in hut villages along the way. One fond memory occurred when a young woman, topless and with a basket on her head, passed by as they were listening to George Harrison on their tape recorder. In no time the three girls were dancing away.

Liz attributes her love of adventure to her parents. Her mother was raised in Australia and came to the United States after World War II. Her father was a merchant marine who sailed the world and returned to work for Matson Navigation Company where he is credited with inventing container shipping.

Dreams of helping others

Success for Liz is all about solving problems. She is known for her incomparable attention to her clients. She listens. She responds. Communication is an on-going exchange so that the best possible solution can be found.

Liz knows that buying and selling homes are exciting, yet stressful times for clients. Her goal is to make it the most positive of experiences. Little wonder she is blessed by referrals and lasting relationships with clients.

Years ago, following a bachelor’s in Zoology from the University of California at Davis, she had plans of entering medical school. To earn money for tuition, she studied to become a Realtor. Liz found that this discipline allowed her to realize her dreams of helping others. She never looked back.

A rewarding life

Of course, enjoying people is just one facet of Liz’s life. Currently she shares her workspace with Joey, an eight-year-old African Grey parrot.

No surprise since bird watching, along with hiking, reading and opera, are sources of delight.

Liz also serves on the advisory board for PACE, an acronym for Pacific Autism Center Education, and is involved in the Friendship Club, a mentoring program for girls in middle through high schools.

During the course of her career Liz has received numerous honors including Realtor Associate of the Year and Realtor’s Golden Rule Award. In addition, she was named a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Club.
